The Middle
I think the hardest part about being home is being caught in the middle.
I’m 20 years old and feel like I’m still being treated like a child. I’ve been away at school for two years I think I’ve learned a thing or two on how to take care of myself. I know I have to eat, I know I have to do my laundry, I know I have to take my medicine, and I know what I need to do today. I’m just at that weird stage that for nearly everything I am independent but since I have to live here over the summer I’m dependent on my family and it’s just the weirdest feeling. Having to abide by their schedule and their views has been so tough. I miss late night talks with friends, playing guitar at all hours of the night, sleeping in on Saturday mornings, and just a thousand little things that I took for granted. I was happy and enjoyed them but didn’t realize how much I would miss it. I miss being able to walk around campus, I miss sitting on Landis Green and just reading, and I miss adventures with awesome people.
I’m also stuck in the middle of my parents. I love both of them but they are putting me in situations and in conversations I don’t want to be in. Aliza, do you think think Mom and Dad are going to get a divorce? Why do you think that Ali? Because Mom told me they were thinking about it. Really Mom you are going to tell a thirteen year old all this right before school finishes and just leave it at that? Not tell me so I get blind sided by this and don’t know how to comfort my own sister. I know it has been hard Dad not being able to raise my brother into the man he should be. Yes, Mom has given him everything he has asked for and no, I don’t think he is ready to go to college early. I know it was hard being thrown into a family with three children but do I really need to hear this?
I’m caught in the middle of Spring and Fall semester and I can’t wait to get back to FSU.

WE ARE NOT THE OBJECTS WE BUY. WE ARE NOT EVEN THE PLACES WE LIVE. WE ARE ONLY THE LOVE, FRIENDSHIP, AND MEMORIES WE CULTIVATE IN THE MINUSCULE TIME WE’RE ALLOTED HERE.

DIY PRESSED FLOWER PENDANT
Materials:
- Freshly picked flower or leaf
- Pendant tray with glass insert
- Paper
- Clear-drying jewelry glue
- Scissors
Instructions:
1. Take a walk and find a pretty specimen. Make sure it is the right size to fit in your pendant tray.
2. Press the flower or leaf you have collected inside a book. I recommend that you place a paper napkin on either side of the flower to better dry out your flower and protect the book pages. Also, depending on how heavy the book is, you may want to stack some other books on top of it for a better result.
3. Let the flower sit for at least a week. Then, remove the stem from your flower if you want.
4. Spread some glue on a piece of cardstock and adhere your flower.
5. Add more glue to the back of the glass insert and adhere it atop your flower.
6. Let dry according to glue specifications.
7. When glue is dry, cut the excess cardstock from around the glass insert.
8. Apply glue to tray of the pendant and insert the flower/glass insert.
9. Place something heavy on top of the pendant and allow it to dry. When it’s dry, string a chain through your pendant and enjoy wearing the little piece of spring you captured.

I have become so addicted to this show since I have all this free time during finals week. One of the pros to being a music major.
I’ve got my jury in about 14 hours…
